Duo Bottesini

Duo Bottesini is unique violin and double bass duo, formed in 2013. Donata Mżyk and Klaudia Baca met in Katowice during their study at Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski. They are friends inspired by a special affection for the variety of chamber music, which for them is the most intimate way to make music. In their mature interpretations of pieces written for violin and double bass and numerous transcriptions, they show that these two different instruments can sound like a one “organism”.

Although the duo was created in 2013, they already impressed members of jury and the audience by their high musical ensitivity and incredible virtuosity, resulted in numerous awards at international prestigious music competitions, the Duo Bottesini is invited to perform at Musical Season and Festival throughout Europe: Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Swiss.
In a very few time they extended their repertoire, which vary from Bach to contemporary music and it includes the most important compositions for violin and double bass like "Gran Duo Concertante" - Giovanni Bottesini, "Duo" - Krzysztof Penderecki and a lots of transcription like J.S.Bach "Invention", G,Bottesini Passiona Amorosa, Z.Kodaly Duo, D.Shostakovich - "Five Pieces For Two Violins", A.Piazzola - "Oblivion", P.de Sarasate - "Gripis Melody", H.Wieniawski – "Capricio Op.18" for two violins.
Each of artist plays a lot of solo concerts in Poland and Europe and they are laureates of numerous competitions.

Donata Mźyk - Violin

Donata Mzyk is a 23 years old Polish violinist. 
She began learning the violin when she was seven years old at the Music School G. Bacewicz in Jaworzno, Poland.
She continued her musical studies, obtaining in 2014 the Bachelor at the Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski in Katowice, Poland. 
Currently she is attending the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatory of Music of the Italian Swiss in Lugano, followed by the Professor Klaidi Sahatci. 
 During her music career, she took part to many competitions and concerts, National and International, achieving always best prizes and results. She took part to many courses, workshops and symposiums violin music.
She has performed as a soloist and with chamber music in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
 She is young but extremely talented violinist, attentive and serious, always keen to improve herself. 
She is conscientious and committed to work towards achieving a variety of musical projects, examinations, auditions, international music competitions. 
 Her fully mature musical interpretations has already impressed many juries during music competitions.

Klaudia Baca - Double Bass

 

The polish Double Bass player Klaudia Baca was born 1992 in Katowice.

She started double bass education at the age of 12.

She graduated summa cum laude at the Szymanowski School of Music at present she is studying at  Conservatory della Svizera Italiana in Lugano with professor Enrico Fagone and Szymanowski University of Music in Katowice with professor Jan Kotula and Boguslaw Furtok.

As a soloist she performed with such accompanied by orchestra as the Philharmonic Orchestra in Katowice, Philharmonic Orchestra in Zabrze, Philharmonic Orchestra in Rzeszów, “Archetti” Chamber Orchestra.

She appeared as a soloist on several music festivals such as the 51th Academy de musiqu Tibor Varga in Sion, International Music Festival “George Enescu in memorian”, International Chamber Music Festival in Vien, 55th Weimar MasterClass, "Pictures painted with sounds" festival in Warsaw, "Autumn Music" in Przemysl, " MusicFestival&MasterClass in Piła, International Music Festival “Young Talents” in Katowice, “Violinarium Festival” , the 1st International Double Bass Symposium, The International Music Festival Zenon Brzewski in Łańcut.

She was performing in such concert halls like Musikverein, Berlin Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic, Laeishalle in Hamburg, Festspiell Baden- Baden,  Liederhalle in Stuttgard, Stockholm Philharmonic, Paris Philharmonic, Kongresshale in Lubeck, Auditorium Communale in Filadelfia.
